State of the Church Address

State of the Church Address

with Dr. Richard N. Ledford II

On May 2, 2010, we launched Restoration Place, and now we are only a few short weeks away from our one year anniversary.  When I sit and think about all God has done in our church body and our family over the past year, I am blown away. Andrea and I are truly humbled by God’s favor and blessing on our congregation, and love each and every one of you with all of our hearts.

It is with great anticipation and excitement, that I write this State of the Church Address to you today.  This morning in service, I shared with the congregation, our plans for the next phase of our ministry.  Marking our one year anniversary, God is transitioning our church body to a new location.

We have been blessed and honored by Bishop Joseph and Pastor Edna Brown of University Ministries.  One year ago, Bishop Brown recognized God’s call for our church to be birthed and graciously allowed us to utilize their property and facilities to start this fresh new ministry in Tallahassee.  Bishop Brown is a great man of God with a vision for this city, and I would like to extend my personal gratitude and appreciation to him, his family, and the congregation of University Ministries for allowing us to share their property for the past year.  We pray that God will continue to bless them and fulfill the vision that He has given them for their ministry.

With the exponential growth God has blessed us with at Restoration Place, we have simply run out of room in both of our services, and it is now time for us to transition to a new location that will better facilitate the on-going growth of our ministry.  This week, Pastor Larry Millender of Abundant Life Fellowship and I entered into an agreement for us to share his facility, located at 3881 North Monroe Street in Tallahassee.

On May 1, 2011, one year from our launch date, we will begin services at 11 am at Abundant Life.  Pastor Millender and the Abundant Life Congregation will continue to meet in an early morning service, and Restoration Place will meet at 11 am.  As the need arises, we will add additional services…1 pm, 3 pm, etc.  God is blessing and we are growing, so we do anticipate additional services in the very near future.

Andrea and I are excited to be on this journey with you as we follow after God and what He has for us at Restoration Place, and look forward to what God has in store for us next!! We are so glad you are a part of the RPT family and on this journey with us!
